Key points

  • One session, one decision, and a written summary you can act on.
  • Three areas: financial feasibility, investment opportunity assessment, cash-flow planning.
  • The session states what the available numbers can and cannot support.
  • A formal professional opinion is issued only under a signed engagement.
  • A written scope, timeline and fee proposal is issued after one assessment visit.

Some decisions do not need a project. They need one focused session with someone who has seen the same decision made well and badly: whether to open a branch, whether to take a facility, how to price after a cost increase, whether an opportunity is worth the cash it will consume.

A session is prepared in advance from the figures you can provide, held with the decision-maker, and closed with a written summary: the options, what each one depends on, and what the available numbers can and cannot support.

Who this is for

This package is for an owner or manager facing one decision with a date on it, who does not need an ongoing engagement to make it. It is the smallest way to work with us, and it is often the first.

It is not a substitute for a system. If the session shows the decision cannot be made responsibly because the underlying figures are not established, we say so and name the package that fixes that instead of proceeding on numbers that will not hold.

What we do

  1. Financial feasibility analysis

We build the decision as a small, explicit model: the cash it requires, the point at which it returns, the assumptions it rests on, and which of those assumptions would change the answer if they were wrong. The value is usually in identifying the one assumption that matters.

  2. Investment opportunity assessment

An opportunity is examined for what it costs in cash and attention, not only for what it promises. We look at the quality of the figures presented, what the seller’s numbers depend on, and what would have to be true for the return to appear.

  3. Cash flow planning

A short forward view of cash: what is committed, what is expected, where the tight weeks are, and which lever moves first when a month is short. Profitable companies fail on cash timing, and cash timing is plannable.

Duration and engagement model

Duration: Set per company. The timeline follows the size of the business and the state of the records already kept, so it is measured during the assessment visit and fixed in writing in the scope of work — we do not estimate it before seeing the books.

A session is booked against a stated question, prepared from figures supplied in advance, and closed with the written summary. It can be a single session or a short series on one decision.

A consulting session is not a professional opinion. A formal opinion — accounting, tax or financial — is issued only under a signed engagement letter.

What is not included

  • A formal written professional opinion, which requires a signed engagement.
  • Tax representation before the authorities.
  • Implementation of what is decided in the session.
  • Valuation or due diligence as a standalone assignment.

Stated up front so a proposal never contains a surprise. Each of these is either a separate package or somebody else’s work.

Frequently asked questions

Can one session be enough?
For a single decision with figures already available, often yes. Where the figures are not established, the session says so rather than producing an answer that cannot be relied on.
What do you need before the session?
The question in one sentence, and whatever figures exist — even if they are incomplete. Preparation is what makes a session useful rather than exploratory.
Is the advice in the session a professional opinion?
No. A formal professional opinion is issued only under a signed engagement letter. The session summary is written advice on a decision, and it says which parts would need a formal opinion.
Can a session lead into one of the other packages?
Frequently, and the summary names which one and why. There is no obligation to continue; the session stands on its own.
